Press Release - Liz Weintraub Elected Chairperson of Maryland DD Council
AUGUST 3, 2006, TOWSON, MARYLAND Liz Weintraub of The Council on Quality and Leadership (CQL) has been elected as the new Chairperson of the Maryland Developmental Disabilities Council for a term of two years.
Liz Weintraub is a valued full-time employee of The Council on Quality and Leadership (CQL). Ms. Weintraub participates in CQL’s accreditation program, provides training and technical assistance to state agencies, private providers, people with disabilities and families. Ms. Weintraub also represents CQL in a variety of national, state and local forums that address issues that concern quality of life for people with disabilities.
Ms. Weintraub has been a Maryland DD Council member since 2000 and served as the DD Council’s Vice-Chair and Chair of the Membership Committee. She also served on the Board of the DD Council’s national association, NACDD.
Brian Cox, Executive Director of the Maryland DD Council stated, “As an individual who has had life-long disabilities, Liz brings an important and critical perspective to her new role. The DD Council looks forward to Liz’s vision and leadership as we implement our new five-year State Plan.”
