CQL Congratulates 2007-08 Class of Area Quality Leaders in Florida

CQL proudly congratulates the ten individuals who successfully completed the 2007-08 training to become certified as Area Quality Leaders (AQLs) in the state of Florida. CQL’s Jill Westring guided the group through the requirements established by CQL to be certified as Area Quality Leaders through their Leadership Academy.

In 2004, Florida’s Agency for Persons with Disabilities (APD) received a Real Choice Systems Change Grant from the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services to establish AQLs in each area. A total of 34 individuals have been certified as AQLs since the CMS grant. CQL customized this certification program in Florida to meet APD’s needs as they developed their quality management system. Personal Outcome Measures ® were used as the state-wide quality indicator, as well as the planning methodology incorporated into training events around the state.

CQL supported APD to create and sustain a state-wide education and technical assistance capacity that is outcome-driven and person-centered.
