CQL is engaged in a variety of projects and activities across the U. S. and internationally. We view our work with our customers as collaboration toward shared goals. Whatever the specifics, we are all working toward the same outcome – a better quality of life for the people we support through our service systems.
Our customers range from partners and public sector agencies to networks, associations and locally-based community service providers; from self-advocacy champions to systems change agents. Our work is as varied as our customers.
It ranges from delivery of one of CQL’s recognized services (such as CQL Accreditation, Trainer Certification, or Basic Assurances® review) to customized applications of CQL’s expert, independent data gathering, assessment, planning and/or analysis.

Jim's love for animals; news sites allow him to participate in his
current events group that meets twice each week; Ticketmaster online

Family Care is a long-term care program piloted in nine Wisconsin counties. As a comprehensive and flexible long-term care service system, Family Care strives to foster people's independence and quality of life, while recognizing the need for interdependence and support. The Wisconsin Department of Health and Family Services (DHFS) included a comprehensive evaluation system to provide objective information about the Family Care program, inform the state legislature in making decisions about the future of the program, and meet federal requirements for an independent evaluation of the waiver. Working in partnership with Metastar – an external quality review organization – CQL staff conducted interviews and provided consultation and training in the completion of interviews based on 14 participant outcomes. These outcomes are derived from CQL’s Personal Outcome Measures®.

The Johnson Foundation in Racine, Wisconsin agreed to sponsor a ground-breaking forum that would launch a new dialogue and vision for the future of quality. The Johnson Foundation agreed to host the conference at its Wingspread Conference Center - the home built by visionary architect, Frank Lloyd Wright for the H.F. Johnson family, founder of the S.C. Johnson Company. This conference brought together leaders from across the country to engage in dialogue and new thinking. Persectives of self-advocates, families, providers, public officials, advocates and researchers were all respresented at the Conference.

Volunteers of America Southeast, Inc. (VOASE) initiated its service network in 1980 by establishing three group homes. Today, the affiliate has grown to be the third largest in the National Volunteers of America family, serving thousands of persons daily, in 27 communities throughout Alabama, Mississippi, and Georgia. Looking for a partner in defining and measuring quality, VOASE began by interviewing several accrediting bodies. They found that CQL best fit the philosophy and direction of the organization.

The Utah Division of Services for People with Disabilities provides
long-term supports and services for people with disabilities so they
can participate fully in their communities and in Utah life. CQL worked
in partnership with Division from 1997 onward to integrate our Personal
Outcome Measures into the state-wide quality enhancement
process. The Division later adopted CQL’s Organizational Assurances and
Organizational Principles into its quality system.

The Nevada University Center for Excellence in Developmental Disabilities provides interdisciplinary training, offering model exemplary services, conducting interdisciplinary evaluation, disseminating information on developmental disabilities and service options, providing technical assistance, and conducting relevant research and evaluation studies.The Personal Outcomes and Satisfaction Project is a cooperative effort of Developmental Services of the Nevada Division of Mental Health and Developmental Services and the Nevada University Center for Excellence in Developmental Disabilities. CQL trained and certified the UCED staff to conduct Personal Outcome Measures® interviews in accordance with established protocols.
