Yadamec, Cathy

Cathy Yadamec, a Quality Enhancement Specialist at CQL since 1999, has employed CQL’s Seven Quality Strategies to contribute to the growth and development of learning organizations.

Ms. Yadamec has 30 years experience coordinating services with persons with disabilities by involving the person, professionals, support staff, family and friends toward common goals.

Ms. Yadamec has extensive knowledge and experience with the ICF regulations as she was the Staff Performance Facilitator for CQL on the CMS look behind surveys. She served as Team Leader and Team member on many surveys at small and large homes for persons with mental retardation. She was directly involved in training and quality assurance for the contract and worked closely with surveyors in improving surveying skills.

Prior to joining CQL, Ms. Yadamec served in many roles in social service organizations. She used The Personal Outcome Measures ® for planning and quality assurance/improvement. Ms. Yadamec has developed, implemented and administered programs for children and adults of all ages.

Her work in Missouri and Illinois includes: serving as the Director of Developmental Services in a community-based multi-services agency providing services to over 100 people in small group homes including ICFs/MR and vocational settings; Director of Residential Services in a large private residential agency serving 200 people in congregate living and in small supported living arrangements through the Medicaid Waiver program; a private contractor for an agency that provided individualized supports through counseling and education to persons with challenging behaviors and to families who were having difficulties; and Director of Quality Assurance and Training serving approximately 80 persons.

Ms. Yadamec has developed and implemented quality improvement/enhancement measures. She supervised staff and encouraged personal and professional growth through training and coaching. She was involved with providing services that met and exceeded regulatory requirements. She managed budgets, solved problems and developed creative program options. She is proud to say she has worked in four different organizations that were nationally accredited.

Ms. Yadamec earned a Bachelor of Science in Education at the University of Missouri in Columbia and a Master of Science in Education at Lindenwood University in St. Charles, Missouri. She is still learning from the people she meets during her adventures.

People that know Cathy would say…

One of the things you might learn about Cathy is that she typically works hard and has good values, but can be opinionated. (but that’s good because she stands up for what is right). Generally, she has left places of employment (always voluntarily except for that fast food restaurant when she was 16) because there were incongruencies in what “they” said and what “they” did. She recognizes it is different at CQL where staff have the opportunity to make certain the organization’s values and practices are congruent. CQL’s staff hold the organization accountable for what they say and do. That’s why Cathy is proud to have worked on CQL’s Employee Outcome Measures (EOM). The EOM is a tool to communicate what is important to her and to determine how well CQL and Cathy are doing in creating a balance in her life. The EOM help to define and measure what is important to improve CQL work life and influence CQL’s culture. The willingness of CQL to ask the questions, analyze the results and take actions confirms herbelief that CQL is a good place to work. Cathy feels she has had a part in making it better for her and perhaps for others, as well.
