I Am Only One Person: How Can I Influence Organizational Change?
This workshop is designed specifically for direct support professionals who know about Personal Outcomes, CQL’s accreditation process, and would like to help the organization strengthen its overall practices in the support of increased Personal Outcomes for all people receiving services.
Leading an organization is complicated and often overwhelming. Engaging in quality enhancement, preparing for accreditation reviews, and supporting organizational change to increase outcomes for people receiving services strengthens the organization but also adds to the complexity and sense of being overwhelmed. Direct support staff are essential to the success of organizational change. Additionally, no organization can successfully increase outcomes for people over the long haul without the hard work and assistance of direct support staff.
This workshop will provide many opportunities to your direct support professionals for:
- sharing information with diverse staff from multiple organizations;
- small group task/work groups to address specific areas of the assurances for health, safety, welfare, and legal and fiscal accountability;
- large and small work groups to brainstorm and problem solve issues related to implementing tasks that support the organizing principles; and
- individual and group work on strategies for one person at a time to make a difference in the organization.
