CQL's Leadership Pipeline Program

CQL demonstrates its value in leadership development through its Leadership Pipeline Program (LPP). The program includes people from across the organization; all with different backgrounds, different job roles and different perspectives. The LPP helps each participant develop a broader vision for success at CQL and the industry as a whole. Critical thinking activities, self-assessments, researching best practices, and identifying and developing solutions for real-life priority issues comprise the agenda for the group. LPP members interact with CQL’s Senior Management team, who serves as mentors to the group.

For 2007-08, The Leadership Group has identified developing staff and the leadership capacity within CQL as its top priority issue. Leadership within CQL is critical for the field and the overall quality of life for people as there will be a leadership gap in the industry in 2006-2010. Ultimately, more CQL colleagues will be supported to take on leadership roles inside, as well as outside, of CQL. Even for positions outside of CQL, we recognize the industry as a whole will benefit as those staff will carry CQL’s influence. Success of this LPP will be measured by the level of business and our reputation for the next ten years. And in ten years, our plan is for CQL to be recognized internationally as a leader in supporting communities.
